"Power" Locks from an Accord?

Civic1200 Discussion Board: : "Power" Locks from an Accord?

Well, I stopped by the junkyard today and picked up that console. It's a little wide, but not too bad. Two of the cables were broken, so I figured I'd either hook up the switch to something else, or wait until I can find a car with intact cables. Here's how it looks just placed in there, I still have to paint it and attach it down:
Console One
Console Two

Also, one of the things I pulled out the other day was an ignition switch light that was in the lower steering column cover. It looks like the lower column cover is too wide from the Accord to fit on to the Civic column, so I was wondering if anyone knows if the earlier Accords had a thinner cover, or if this was ever an option on early Civics?

Yeah, that's probably what I'll do if I get the console, but I was wondering about the door lock switch. I don't want to have a switch that does nothing, even if I'm the only one who knows it does nothing. I'd want to hook it up somehow, even if I don't really need it (I can reach the other side of the car from the driver's seat). I'm thinking I'll get the console, paint it, and hook up the switch to something else if I can't get it working with the door locks.

Ok, so I was in a junkyard near my house, and spotted an old Accord. On the center console there was a switch next to the parking brake that'll lock and unlock all the doors in the car by way of a cable. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Do you think that the system can be transferred over to a 1st gen Civic? Not that I really need power, err, cable actuated locks, but I was thinking about pulling the console and putting it in my Civic, it looks like it'll fit and it has a little storage thingie up front. Only problem is it's green, but a can of dye should take care of that. I also pulled an ignition switch light from the same car that looks like it'll fit nicely after a shot of dye.

If it can save me the time of pulling the console and dying it, does anyone have one of these consoles for sale in black, with or without the "power" locks? I don't look forward to fishing out the cables from each individual door. That, and half the stuff I dye turns out looking pretty iffy.
