That is what I was thinking. In his add it says the body is mounted on the civic frame. So I assume it is a civic with a modified Crosely body.

I also have a 1979 Scout with a Mustang GT 5.0 engine. Because both had to pass smog I had to get a speciel registration. The state actually added a tag to my door frame. I am still not sure if I have to smog it based on Mustang or Scout. I think Scout.

I think it would be classed more as a drive train swap. For intance I had a Chevy Vega that I put the engine, rearend, and suspension in out of a Monza but that was still a Vega not a Monza. I understand what you are saying though like when you put a glass body on a VW its still a VW. Now you have me thinking... I wonder if its all in how you register it and where the serial number is?

I always thought that it would be based on the doner car, not just the body.

It would not have to pass smog. It would be classed as a Crosley

I am still trying to figure out why anyone would take a 1947 car in California and put it on a car that has to pass smog. And $25,000, yah!

Interesting, but very ugly, and still an old Civic on the inside, albeit with some gnaff looking tweed upholstery. And he wants $25,000!

The body is all Crosley. Cool how he used the Civic dash in it too. Did you know that those cars were actualy sold by Sears through the catalog.

Personally if I where customizing and old car to that extent I would put a V8 in it.
