For the heater core, you can take the two lines running into the core and connect them together, bypassing the core altogether. E-bay is probably your best bet for parts on the cheap, but many of the small stuff is still available from the dealer. Value of the car depends on condition and location, the really nice cars in SoCal seem to go for a fortune, compared to a well worn car out east. If you do part the car out, there are a few parts I'd be interested in, especially if the car is relatively rust-free and has A/C. If you want to send me some pictures, I'll do my best to guesstimate a value.

I have a "nice" 77. Just 72K original miles. I love this baby - but have little time to try fixes to my certain problems. I am a moderate to rookie mechanic and get into certain repairs but dont go too deep due to family (ya know the time thing). Okay:
1. does anyone know where i can get reasonable prices parts for my car: stuff like heater control valve, radiator, dome light, passenger roll up window assembly, heater core.
2. does anyone want to fool with giving me their best shot at what my car is worth if i send them 4-5 pix? I may sell it?
3. is anyone intersted in parts if i decide to chop shop this car up for parts and ebay some and sell some outright?
-- basiclly i love the car... it runs great - but today started a new little problem of coolant dripping from the heater core-hose-heater control valve..tried tightening 2 hose clamps but NO GO. not a bad typical heater core blowout leak but an annoying one that has to get fixed. QUESTION: if i dont ever use heater... can i just snip the 2 lines in the engine compartment and clamp them off?? yeah i know... a little jerry-rigged but with time a hot commodity -- and frankly i dont ever use the heater or AC or anything in this vehicle - i am willing to go that route to quick fix this problem if someone knows out there that IT WILL WORK?
hey-- this group is about the only chance i have for help!
thanks from a novice mechanic but happy 77 honda cvcc HB owner.
