AC was factory option, you will loose power and car will heat up more when you run it. Middle of the temp gauge should be fine, any higher, I would not use AC unless you are driving at least 55mph to keep engine cooler. I live in San Diego, we don't need AC too often here. Tint your windows, it'll help.

1) My 1977 Honda Civic has A/C. Was this a factory option?

2) When I run the A/C, the temp will heat up on the car. About half way up the gauge. Any ideas on getting the engine to run cooler?
