While i do take great offence a being called an ausie =P i can guarantee you that i will not be getting rid of the car any time soon. It is a 4-door EB3 which makes it pretty rare anyway i beleive, and hopefully by the end of the summer it will have my reco city turbo engine with an equal length manifold, a mitsy TD04 turbo and an external wastegate. There is a front bumper on the way from Mick Bradford (although the shipping company seems determined not to deliver it) and the platform adjustable coilovers are about 50% complete at the moment.
I think air con would be just the thing to complete the package
Drop me an email and we can dicuss the details.

John, the 1200 pulleys are double groove, but the outer groove is smaller diameter than the inner groove. They're the same for all 1200's, A/C or not. The CVCC's without A/C had a single groove pulley, the ones with had a double groove pulley with the grooves the same diameter. The timing marks won't matter, on my CVCC they're on the flywheel. Do you know what the diameter of the pulleys are? Also, I think some of the 2nd gen Civics had a different pulley, the inner groove being a v-belt, the outer groove being a different kind of belt that looked like a combination between a serpentine and v-belt. I've never seen that kind of belt before except on a 2nd gen. How much would you want for one? You can e-mail me with the details if you think it would be easier.

Jonathan,
Are you sure about them being different? Unless you are referring to a single belt pulley compared to a double belt pulley? Yes I have several double belt pulleys as they were standard equipment on the 80-83 CVCCs and to the best of my knowledge are interchangeable on the earlier blocks, though you may need to file on the older timing index marks,I'm not sure about that.

Hey John, don't mean to threadjack here, but do you happen to have a crank pulley for a CVCC A/C system? I'm pretty sure the 1200 pulleys are the same as the non A/C pulleys, but the CVCC ones are different for A/C and non-A/C. Seeing as how Colza would probably need the City Turbo w/ A/C crank pulley, I wouldn't want to see the crank pulley you have go to waste

Colza,
I think I may eventually end up your "new best friend". I also have a spare set of 1st Gen factory Civic air conditioner parts. I wasn't going to let go of them, but for one of you Aussies, who could not get them, I think I would let one set go,that is if you can convince me that it is your determination to build the car you are working on to "Keeper" specs...and keep it. These parts are getting rarer by the moment, and if I decide to sell any of the stuff I have stockpiled over the years, I want it to go to someone for whom these cars are not just a passing fad. As near as I can tell only about a dozen or so of us on this website fall into this catagory...and they know who they are...so let's talk.

Hmmm, sounds like sourcing the parts for that is gonna be interesting...
Oh well, ill keep an eye out. Cheers for that

No Civics came with A/C from the factory, at least for the U.S. market. A/C was a dealer add-on option, totally seperate from the heater unit. The evaporator mounts in place of the glovebox, but I'm not sure how the hoses would be routed on a right hand drive model, especially if you have a compressor in a non-stock location. The condenser can mount either in front of the radiator (stock place for a 1200) or next to the radiator (stock for a 1500/CVCC). If your exhaust manifold exits in the back of the head, I'd suggest using the spot next to the radiator for better A/C performance.
Just started summer there, had the first snowfall of the year here....

Well, its just started being summer here. And in the past few hot rancid days ive been thinking more and more about trying to fit air con to my EB. The engine is a City Turbo and they came with aircon, so the compressor is no worries, but did any EB's come out with aircon? I wouldnt want to attempt it unless i had an EB heater unit with aircon as a base to start from...
