Honda still sells that wrench for around $30.00 It's worth it if your looking for a good manifold at a wrecking yard. Buy it, you'll need it eventualy. I have mine and any good shop will have that wrench also. Anyway, I did post a photo a long time ago with the part number showing, don't have that photo any more, but ask Honda, they'll help you get it. That wrench will fit 1973 Civics to the early 80 hondas.

If you get one of those racheting box-end wrenches you can get at the two middle bolts from underneath the manifold. It's a tight fit, but it is possible. I just did this last week on an engine out of the car, but there should be enough room from underneath the car with the engine in. It will help to take the bolt out that holds that water tube in place too, you might have to jiggle it to get the wrench on the nut.

I found mine on ebay, but its pretty rare for one to show up. I believe someone on the board ordered one through honda not too long ago? sonymxx200? not sure if they are still available new, but its worth a shot

With the part number you may still be able to order that from Honda. If they have any left I am sure they would be glad to see them go...though if you have priced anything lately, they seem to believe that everything has transmuted into gold.

I have a question regarding a special tool for 1978 CVCC's. To assist in removing the manifolds from the engine, Honda offered special tool A975A-352-83023, "Exhaust Manifold Wrench". It is basically a metric box-end wrench whose odd-shaped handle allows the nuts on the engine head studs to be reached without the need to separate the intake manifold from the exhaust manifold when removing or attaching it to the head. In the Honda OEM shop manual (Rev. 3/81) for that car, this tool is listed in the "Special Tools" section on page 2.2 and is referenced on page 11.5. At this time, where could such a wrench be obtained? Are there any after-market equivalents? This group has an impressive breadth of knowledge regarding these old cars. Thus, I believe it likely that someone knows where this tool could be obtained or could point me in a direction that would eventually turn-up one.

Thanks in advance for the anticipated assistance.
