Hey Jamie,as you can see Cheepo Rogers closed my account and transfered it over to Yahoo. You can find the picters on the new site www.1stgencivic.com. Look under engine swaps Idiots guide to motor swaps or photo/projects Peters v-tech hybrid
I must thank Justin and Peter for providing the great pictures for the site to share with us. Oh and don't forget Twyla for pulling the old motor single handed, I could not help but notice your handywork at putting the lettering on so perfectly. Salute to you all for such a fantastic job that you can all be proud of.

Also, kelly is snagging the weber 32/36 and using the eb3 to build a 1300 crank/rods/etc stroker, but if someone needs something, let me know, and if i dont need it, we can work something out..

Well, "IT" has begun, Kelly and I have the eb3 all but out of there, axles out of the tranny, exhaust off, everything disconnected, upper mounts off, etc. Just the lower rear mount..then it's off to someone else's house where welding and a cherry picker are avail to begin fabricating up....i know the 99 d16 is not ideal, but, hey, its the one sitting there in the garage! any more advice is welcome, you guys think i outta add hydraulic stuff for the clutch or is there a cable 5 speed that would be easier to work with? thanks in advance, i will now scour the search feature for any helful tidbits..

Thanks guys...i was wondering about the 99 axles..can i use them with 80-83 knuckes and hubs to get 4x100?? and newer style calipers/rotors?

THE 99-00 D16 IS A obd 2.5 motor. it has even more power robbing, tunner unfriendly sensors then the obd2(96-98). so you should get a conversion harness for that to obd1.

What does the level 1 on board diagnostic ignore that the level 2 doesn't? the catalytic converter? tank pressure?

farenheight101, yes ecu included, 300.00 US. the guy has alot of wiring harness pieces, the wiring will definately be a challenge...
and jonathan, you are right, i will need a manual for sure, but i do have mitchell on demand at work so i can also print out the majority of the wiring from there...too bad i cant use the shop equipment though!!--yeah those NJ winters are pretty nasty and cold..its only like 55 or so here in VA today
78si...you may be right, i know they make obd 1 to obd 2 converters..but they are expensive, right?..
i need another daily driver i think, cause this is gonna take awhile!

You might want to convert down to obd 1.. Might make it a little easier..

Jamie, congrats on the find! If I found an engine like that, for that price, I might consider doing a swap right away! If you can get them, a factory service manual with the wiring diagrams from the '99 will help you out immensely. I've got wiring diagrams of the 1200's posted here:
http://web.njit.edu/~jjj8778/Civic/Wiring_1200/
If it'll help you out in the wiring.
Oh, and I'm not in a rush for the parts, I don't need A/C during the winter anyway I figure it'll be April/May before I can really get some work done again on my Civic.

did you get the ecu and wiring harnesses too?
what a deal...$300! US?

well, it will be less of a "drop" and more of a "squeeze", but i have now in my posession a d16 with only 60k pulled from a 99 civic (he did a vtec upgrade)!! with the 5 speed and axles!!! the guy i got it from does modern honda swaps and just wanted it out of his garage this weekend! so, while i WILL have to pay 300 bucks, i dont gotta come up with it until we start the actual install...sometime after the new year.. what a deal, huh? it will be a pretty involved process, but well documented with pics and stuff...
also, i wanna mention that jonathan is extremely patient in waiting for my broke/lazy self to ship him some parts...i better go get on that!!
