1170 & 1237 Civics are now in E Prepared for Solo autocross competition @ 1350 lbs with a 7" rim
Its a shame that SCCA road racing rules pile on the weight. So it appears that Solo 2 will be home to the quickest (not the fastest) race Civics even though they wont get out of 3rd gear
Street 1.2 Civics still have a home in F street prepared.

Well I am foolish enough to try this as well - '76 Civic full GTL prep - EN1 engine 1mm over with 1200 long rods and raised wrist pin on JE pistons, Houseman transmission, 60" track, etc.....I'm waiting for the ruling on weight from SCCA. YOu can see my request in Fasttrack. Running SCCA Northwest Region.

Oh cool, I get it now. BTW, your shocks shuld be there soon. I would love seeing a 1200 chasing the late models. That would bring a lot of attention.
If you go to NorCal region I'll go to the events.

Frito Nope you missed the point
I'm thinking a GT5 type 1.2 running a 1300 (EN) at about 1550 pounds with driver may have a chance? I think it would be cool to see hondas first chasing some of hondas best... Notice I said chasing not passing
Yes if I had to do it over I would get a 90CRX and drop a b18 in it no sweat and parts are everywere Hindsite is 20 /20

Don, H1 type car is niiiice... This one is close to being a racer. All that is needed is the proper seat, cage, and tires. A Dynapack dyno is also in the works and the K-pro ecu should be tuned in soon.
I had a lot of fun with this at Streets of Willow track.

So basically after driving this, I am leaning toward getting back into another one like this. Parts are easy to find and you're guaranteed to be fast with a car like this. The 5.06fd is awesome on the 6spd. Don't mean to thread jack but I'm basically selling my '91 and '99 to fund this. I may be parting with my 1200 and its parts.
Don, if you're looking into racing a newer model Civic I think you'll really be happy over the outcome. I know I would be getting fed up with all this classing crap and added weight they're trying to pull on you.
Francisco
PS what would you run in H1 as a hybrid? Any idea?
Oh and the car is the r&d car from my friend's shop http://www.rcrewracing.com
In case you guys want to see more...

Chad where are you? If the SCCA doesn't class the 1200 Civic at a reasonable weight (full prep is classed at 1880 ouch!) For a car thats about 1500 off the showroom! I will seriously look at running Nasa's Honda Challenge series. Running H1 as a Hybird lets you run with no minimum weight and some engine mods and any honda engine is allowed besides it might be fun to try to chase down a 2800 lb NSX classed in the same class. Not saying it would be sucessful in that quest but it could be fun If I do this I'll have Bryan build me a bigger engine next year. Anyway If some of you guys are on the westcoast it maybe fun to run the same series? I know Raymon has a nice race Civic he may run one of these years.

Off topic but John told me once that his gt5 car was somthing like mid 1300 lbs before he balasted it back up to legal weight so it can be done.

Yeah, I am. In SOLO II they are re-arranging D-prepared and E-prepared. All civics will be in EP and weighted with 1 lb/cc with a minimum weight of 1400 lbs. Running a 1237 is a bit of a disadvantage except 1400 lbs is so light it won't matter too much. Formatt a letter for me to send and I'll help you out. I would like the flexibility to play in HP in the future so do your best.

Any other people besides John L and myself current members? I submitted a clasification request to class a Limited prep Honda 1.2 in HP so I figured if a few scca members e-mailed the comp board it could help it pass. Mostly though its not looking so hot because Malley (Full prep now in GP) did so well that their warry of puting any civic back in HP.
