There's a few heater cores on e-bay right now, I bought one about two weeks ago for $20 shipped.
The wheels can probably be straightened, unless they're severely bent. If you do try to find replacements, be aware that the bolt pattern is 4x120mm, which is only found on 73-39 Civics, 76-81? Accords, and a few early Preludes, I think.
Do a search for Justin's Wagon, it has an updated drivetrain and brakes from an NSX.

I just bought this '78 civic1200. http://www.bluehorizonsinc.com/images/civic/civic1200.jpg
The owner was a honda mechanic for a long time and this has been his daily driver/project car for the last 20 years. I love this car. It's a blast to drive. It's in great shape for the year, with only a few small problems.
First, the heater... I looks as though the core is corroded and leaking a little bit of antifreeze. I think it will need to be replaced. Does anyone have any tips on finding/replacing the heater or heater core? Can I use one from a newer model civic if I find one?
Secondly, the wheels it came with appear to be factory honda wheels but they are bent. Its really annoying on the highway, so I am thinking about getting a set of steel wheels to replace them. Should I try to find some at a salvage yard, or try to buy some new ones?
My future plans for the car... I would love to put a vtec engine in it and also upgrade to some more modern front brakes. Has anyone done either of these conversions? Thanks!
