I think we need a member's page update. I want a place to put some pics of my car, to make me feel good. JK :P ....I want to see pics of everyone's cars, it would be cool.

By the way Richard(Chaffneue), I like your suggestions at the begining of this thread, and I don't really think it hurts to have two sites, which is to say I wouldn't want to lose this one, even if they might have similar or in some cases the same info. I always thought a true gallery page would be very kool...one with portrait sized photos. One thing though...it might not be a bad idea if those tutorial posts could be proofread by an admin before a final posting.

I think it might be a neat added feature if there was a section where any of us could add links to websites that have useful information organized per subject for easy reference at any time. Kind of like what Richard had on the other page(is it gone?) I know every once in a while I'll trip over some info that might be valuable to others on this sight, but just to list it in a current thread, or even start a new thread allows it to fall of the face of the earth in a pretty short time. recent example...
"Daniel Stern Lighting" which has some excellant info on how to align headlamps, driving and fog lamps. Also how and why to use relays on High power lamp systems, with great schematics , and my favorite; an explaination on how to rig your front marker lights to blink with your turn signals like European cars do,(very simple) and an excellant safety measure as well as being cool.

I dont think you would step on toes if you fixed up this site. Richard was asking for help but I think he gave up. A weekend deleting crudy posts and updating pages would be very welcome at least from my veiw as a user.

thanks for the feedback guys.. I don't want to step on any toes, so I'll just think of other projects..

Randy's site already kicks ass. I have a few different cars and finding information on them can be hard. Finding information on my 1st gen civic is easy because of Randy's and this site. And mine is a spex elf.

Try finding technical information on a 1960 Oldsmobile Super 88.

Wish Randy was into those.

Isn't Randy's site - www.1stgencivic accomplishing all of our needs?

Google is paying to put ads on blogs (if people actually click on the ads). I'm not certain, but I think the discussion board is a sort of blog, right? Mabye, this could address some of the funding issue. Second, Google does real fancy searches that target ads to their market. I would be happy to have ads that are carefully marketed to us. I am always trying to locate parts and if the ad for the part I wanted was here life would be easier.

That sounds like a cool idea to me. If you have extra time, us 2nd geners would love it too i'm sure.

Why not just offer to upgrade this site? I think the other Richard is running low on time to do much needed maintanance these days. Theres a Gob of threads that need deleted and the other pages like the links and members cars are years old. I think he may wecome the help.

Hey everyone, I read a comment on the board the other day that there's not much online for the working on first gen honda civics. I'm a web designer and I'd like to help out with the 1st gen scene for everyone's benefit. I don't want to compete with forums, but rather design a free system so that people without webspace can put up tutorials (with pictures) of how to do anything from basic maintenance to performance conversions on their first gen Honda Civics. The idea would be that a user would log in, pick a category to write about, and then complete a simple form to generate their tutorial page. It would be a sort of FAQ, but with the benefit of being visual and updateable by the entire Honda community, not just a single web guy. Would anyone use something like this? If I get enough response, I'll design it over christmas. I wouldn't mind giving out gallery space for showcasing user's rides too. So whaddya think?
