Darrell-Arizona- I will look up the year book. It is under 10 some years of stuff but I will look you two up. When I drove to high school I drove my '65 Mustang fastback (Red) or my other fastback (white with blue stripes) then my last high school car was a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I have seen a few CVCC cars around the AV in recent years so I hope to add to the number.

You might be able to see me or my brother in a year book. Check it out... Darrell DeChon or Justin DeChon. My brother graduated in 91.

My friend and I used to drive to school in his yellow civic "the banana." ha ha. Now he's a Math teacher and works along with Mr. Paris. Mr Paris is the little guy who rides his bike every day to get to school.

You'll probably see more civics in the area.

Wow, I really do feel releived that I din't get the car. I will find myself one someday soon. My Mom use to have a 1980 Civic. That thing ran well and had 380,000 miles on it so even if I don't get the first gen civic, I might get a second gen. My brother had a 1983 Civic S so that would be a great car to get back into. I saw that a local repair shop has a first gen civic wagon in his back lot so it might be a possible buy. Hey, Darrell--Arizona-- I went to AV HS also, graduated in '92.

Yeah,
I learned my lesson a long time ago about touching anything with what appears, or even hints at being a questionable title. I don't care what kind of story they might tell you. Even if you have a bonafide bill of sale, it is a headache to get rid of the carcass after you take what you want off of it, and of course without a title there is no legal way of registering the car. Damn shame you had to waste your time, but now that you are looking you will find one. In your area they are still out there to be found.

Mike you did the right thing by walking away from the guy and that yellow civic. I test drove it and it had alot of problems. Consider yourself lucky, last car I bought from this guy I had to invest over 2 g's to get it running good. Check this out, the guy even called me back later offering the car as is for $500.00 He said he needed to get rid of the car before the year was over and all that paperwork was so fishy. Anyone doing business in Mexico with cars is bound to get into problems later on. There's been alot of reports of ilegal business going on with cars being donated to Mexico. Watch out.

Hey Mike.

I'm from Lancaster also. I graduated from AV highschool in 1993. There were some good junk yards around 100th Street East, but I haven't been there in a while. Merry Christmas!

Well, I went to pick the car up yesterday, 24 Dec. Had to drive almost to the Mexican border. I could see Mexico from where the car was! The car was as advertised on Ebay. The guy said he forgot to get the paperwork so we had to drive about 10 miles to the guy's house. The car runs well and it kept a 70 to 75MPH pace on the freeway. When I got to the guy's place the paperwork was very confusing. The car had been donated to a KQED public television station in Northern California then another company bought it then transfered it to two other companies of which the final company was located in Mexicali, Mexico. The car had 1996 tags on them , but the last paperwork on the car was the Pink slip that was dated in 1986! No company or registration had been done to the car for quite a time. The last supposed transfer was to the company in Mexico on the 7th of December. Very weird so I had to walk away from it. I really liked the car, but didn't want to have problems with DMV. Hope to find a good car with proper papers sometime in the future.

Mike, in what area of California do you live?

By Mike (Whitebuffalo) (66.82.9.29) on Thursday, December 23, 2004 - 11:36 pm:

I am in Lancaster,CA. The White Buffalo Racing name is from my business selling motorcycle parts and accessories. Mostly road racing but some dirt bike stuff too. The little Honda will be my fun transport and delivery car to go along with my 1970 CT70 pit bike. I plan to make the car a bit racey with some flaired fenders, front valence and some Panasport style rims like the ones on the frontpage of this website. Since I am in California I won't worry about performance due to keeping the car in compliance with Smog checks. Once the car is old enough not to worry about Smog checks then I will mod the motor. I want the car to handle well and look good even if it isn't all that fast. I have owned 5 Austin Minis and one Fiat 500 so fast isn't too important. My car has the 1500cc so it will scoot. Great to be here and I hope to get some tech and parts help in the future.
