Ok - thanks, Justin! Yeah, I think I'll e-bay it away and get some $$, I can use that to get me a good unit...or Honda parts! :)

Not worth it.. you have to use a factory bmw deck to control it... sell it on ebay, you can probably get some money for it :) and then buy a fm modulated control unit (IE: sony/pioneer/jvc/kenwood etc etc )

It's a factory-installed model by BMW. Does that mean I need to buy "brain" and seperate display module from any stereo shop locally? Or do they have to be from the BMW with the CD disc player?

There seem to be a display module next to the stereo on the dash there. The "brain" is inside the side panel in the trunk...but it is linked to a lot of other systems!

What brand of changer? more than likely it'd a fm modulated style. There should be a "brain" and a seperate display module. you would need all of it to work, also you must have a fm radio in your civic :)

Today I pulled out a multi-disc CD player (it can play up to 6 CDs) along with a cord all the way to dash. The player was set up inside the trunk there, it was off a BMW 7-series model which was written off. My boss told me that I can take it out if I wanted it.

So the big question is whatever it's possible to get a stereo that can be hooked with the CD player for my Civic? the end of the cord I removed has a small square plug to go in back of a stereo.

Something to think...
