If you guys can't find a CVCC air dam, just buy the CVCC Accord dam and trim it. It's not a perfect fit, but that's what I did for my wagon. If you take the time and get someone else to help you hold it, you can mount it and make it look sweet. There's a Kamei air dam for sale on Ebay. Look for it under Kamei Honda Accord CVCC, one of those words should get you there. I think it ends 27Feb05

This is as close as I've come to making a Kamei dam fit my Civic. I purchased a 77 Accord Kamei dam, sold the car, modified the dam and now it's on my wagon

79Guy, don't you have a 1200? The CVCC air dams are a little different, and won't fit properly on the 1200's. The 1200 air dams still show up every once in a while, they're more common than CVCC ones. Maybe once a mold is made, it'll be the other way around

Hey. I will be working with Jon on these. I will have to see the part to see its complexity and then I will be able to tell if carbon fiber will be worthwhile.
For the standard fiberglass setup, I will be using top grade aircraft materials. Cloth as opposed to mat, and epoxy opposed to polyester. Cloth is much stronger than mat, and epoxy is more durable and shrinks less than polyester which is standard for most aftermarket parts.

To the best of my knowledge Cannon never made an intake to fit a 32/36 Weber.

Hey Jonathan , askyour guy if he could mold one in carbon fiber... I'd like to get one of those air dams for my 79...Let me know when they'er ready and give me a price. And also , I'm trying to find some headers and a canon intake for a 32/36 Weber.

Main difference I can see is the notch on the top of the air dam is wider on the 78/79 models. I don't think there would be any other difference, so the 78/79 air dam should fit the older models with a little bit of a gap at the top, but the '75-77 one won't fit the later models without some trimming. I got your e-mail with shipping address, I'll get everything packed up and out to you this week.

Oh that sounds terrific! I can't wait until the mold is made - I could use one(or two) of the 78-79 ones. Is someone going to make a mold of that one too or just the earlier one? I hope both...=)
Jonathan did you get to "work" on that wagon yet? hehe

Ok, this just isn't working. Posted 'em here instead:

Right now it's covered with Carbon Fiber looking stuff, the guy who I got it from never finished the work on it.

Lemme try that again..

Joel, do you want both the 75-77 air dam and 78/79 ones to make copies of? Here's a picture of the earlier style...
I've got more pictures somewhere, but they might be on the computer that had the motherboard fry. Might be a while before I can get that one functional again.
Shoot me an e-mail so I know where to ship it.

I will make a mold right away since I need one before I paint my engine bay.
I have 3 years fiberglassing and carbon fiber experience.
I work with fiberglass and molds weekly. I will make the molds and give you your airdam for free.
thanks
Joel
I have access to both year range Civics to mock them up.

Can you let us see what the non Kamei one looks like? I would be willing but its been a bit cold here for me to do much. David
By Jonathan (68.193.6.173) on Saturday, January 15, 2005 - 10:52 am: |
I've got two CVCC air dams, one is a Kamei that'll fit 78/79 models, and the other one I don't know the brand, but it fits '75-'77. I don't have the time or the space to make a mold of either one. If someone does, and is willing to make copies for others on the board, I'm willing to ship one/both to you, and I'd even pay the shipping. I was going to mount the Kamei one on my car in a few months, but until then, I figure it can go to better use as a mold.
