Sounds good... I'll try that first. Thanks a lot!

I replaced the bushings in the torque reaction rod 2 weeks ago and it fixed up all the slack on accelaration. As Adrian said get one from Noltec.

They charged me $AU73 for both ends and pressed them in.

nm...I found tons of pics on an old thread called "Is this an eb3 head?"

By farenheight101 (24.69.255.203) on Sunday, January 23, 2005 - 04:33 pm:

what are ways for the EN1 head to bolt up to the EB3 body? I had to make a bracket to go from the mount down to the front starter bolt. But the problem here now is hat both brackets that go to the mount are on the same side of the mount, leaving the other side with a nut and washer. I'm just worried that the mount might slide off that empty side.

Anthony Yes they sell a stock replacement here Any autoparts store can get it too... problem is the rubber doesn't last that long.

Great, let me know how it goes!

Hmm.. I get that sort of feeling too, like a little thud when shifting and releasing the clutch -- and my bushing is totally shot.. you can actually watch the motor physically shake in engine bay when it's under load.. I'm going to give the skateboard wheel/bushing stock places a try.. I'll bring a set of calipers and measure it out.. If I can get some cheap, quality results (hopefully that's not mutually exclusive), I'll post it here and on civic77... otherwise I'll just spring for the noltech/whiteline ones or a new dogbone altogether.. :) On with the farmer bodges!

If I were to have a severely worn torque rod bushing, would it cause a feeling of excessive slack in the drive train? I put up a post about this problem, and I assume it's worn gears/bearings in the differential or transmission, but before I pull the tranny it would be nice to check there first.

In Aus, Kelpro, they make the engine steady, the whole rod, with both bush's, thats how they sell it, cal get part number if you want, work at Auto Pro, parts store and we sell em retail for about $70 Aus..they make all the Honda mounts, and thousands of others.

By farenheight101 (24.69.255.203) on Friday, January 21, 2005 - 08:11 pm:

Just take your old mount. Drill holes through it, both ends, right around, making spokes. Then trim the rubber inward but leaving enough to hold the piece together. Now go to your local parts store, buy a tube of windshield urethane and fill them mounts right through and up. Let dry for like a week or two. And you have one custom urethane mount for $10.

Wonder if a urethane skateboard wheel would work?
