I'd be willing to bet the other way, that it's registered as a Crosley. If it IS registered as a '79 Civic, then it has to go through smog checks in CA. If it's registered as a '47 Crosley, however, it's all smog-check free!

79 civic CVCC in disguise.

Dash, seats, chasis, tranny and engine all civic. I bet it's registered as one too.

peugeots are cool imo, but they aren't available stateside. I see old sedans once in a blue moon, but I have my doubts if there's more than a couple dozen 205's, 305's, are any others here in the U.S. of A. THose are totally cool airdams too. I like the one w/ the quad light holes(3rd from bottom)

hey all ..

thought i'd start a discussion thread for 1G civic uses of "non-Honda" parts ....

1. - Struts - at the wrecker today i found that the 89 toyota corolla XL has uprights with those friendly little hexagonal nuts on top ! - yes indeed, they take inserts !-- and look as if they might be useful for our home-made coil over quests --
anyone know anything about these?

2. Radiators - the renault 5 (leCar) has a nice sized aluminum rad that looks to be about the same size as 1200 civic, but thinner - (with a seperate filler) --
--- also the Peugeot 205 GTi has a sweet thin aluminum rad that looks possible for our applications -- is the 205 popular over there? -- there's TONNES of them here -- it has an engine bay about the same size as the civic and sports a 1.9 ! -

3. front lower valance (airdam) - again, the peugeot 205 GTi looks about right, without looking too bulky and sports a couple of light areas for the 77 style turn sigs, or possibly some fogs .. have to get exact size, but i think they'll work --

i'll try and post some pics ..

cheers for now --
mo
