You would need to do the manifold mods like Ramon said.
The 4-port head (81-83) is a better flowin head that you can give a good port job to, deck it, use the Electric 'dizzy'(get rid of the timing vacume delay and use the venturi port for the vacume advance.. that is if it's good. Get a MSD 5 box around 80-100$us)
(and If I can remember right), Drill,tap and plug the EGR passage in the #4 exhaust port and use the old intake with a 32/36 DGV Weber. While you have the head off, drill out the 5 pre-chamber holes slightly larger (I think I did mine to 3/16ths) then just 'touch-em' with a 1/4 drill to knock down any burrs

Use a lower 1g integra crank timing gear, aftermarket adjustable cam gear.. The hard part is finding a round tooth belt that's the same length or just a pich shorter to make up for the decking if done.

Don't forget about the 'short' headbolt either
aaand if you can find one.. Utilize a 80-81 EK 4-port exhaust manifold/down pipe and 'fab' it in.. I think they were slightly bigger inside.

It will drop in, you will need the front mount on the 82 and bottom portion of the 77. You will loose the fire wall mount unless you make one. You will also need the exaust down tube from the 82. The trans is a perfect fit. Just block off the egr with a plate or plug it. Big differnece

I don't know if the engineer will fit in there LOL , but the tranny prob. will... as my tranny in my 1200 not CvCC is from a 2nd gen 1500 , But hopefully some1 with better knowledge than me could help...

My '77 CVCC looks like it has a cracked head or bad gasket. So I will be pulling the engine out to rebuild it. However, I recently came across an '82 Civic 1500S with a 5 speed. Will the engine and tranny fit and work in my 77???
