Travis There is autocross class called street mod that will probably work for you.

Kyle yes I dont think it will be that bad I can even flare the fenders slightly. I think it weighs at 1580 or so with me in it so I could drop some more weight out of it. It sure beats 1830 in Scca's G prepared.

I was hoping to autocross this season, but I'm having a hard time finding a classe(xcept for modified) that'll accept my car as it's got the EK1 swap in my '82 sedan . Am I wrong? I remember seeing a class that'll take engine swaps as long as it's from the same make, but I'm not seeing it now...

Just reading through the rest of the rules, seems like a pretty good class for a first gen. I like the way they calculate the min. weight, you can have a reeeeally light car in that class. out of curiosity, what does your car weigh now?

"3. Able to seat (4) average size adults as sold to the public."

WoooHooo I found a regonal class that I can race in:)
I spoke to a CRB member yesterday it appears that the HP Civic of Malleys sucess was due to driver not car. The new owner is much much slower and has some ideas of his own as how the car should be classed. Basicly I was told nicely that an HP Honda in any form aint happening due to political reasons and the full prep car in GP is a big underdog with a average driver. The RS rules sound pretty fair and lots of mods are allowed.

Yes I was warned about the SCCA but still expected a better thought proccess from those bone heads than "its too old - go build a full prep car" Christ the VW rabbit is listed in what 4 different catagories .... never stoped them from classing it.

Adam was in HP but then he was so fast there that the SCCA CRB (Club Racing Board) moved him/car up to GP. Last year he ran GT5 (now called GTLite).
Don, the SCCA is politics at its best. I have been in the SCCA for 25 years and now I am about to go into the Steward training program.
