I think it would hurt performance the eb2 head likes steep valve backs... to cut them would make them flatter. I tested some honda valves and some replacements... the replacements were flatter on the back side and lost flow.

Bryan, Not the stem but the heavy part of the valve between the face and the stem. I wouldn't just cut it with tooling but would probably grind off the material with a tool post grinder.

I would be careful about doing it because stock valves are friction welded together. The head and stem are rotated in different directions and pressed together until they attach themselves. If you try and take material off the stem, and that is what I think you are saying, it might cause themj to come apart under running conditions.

Has anyone back cut their intake or exhaust valves? Looking at a stock eb2 exhaust valve it looks like it could help with flow and weight. I know some race tracks won't allow it but what about a hot street application? Don, have you done any flowing with back cut valves? I can do some on my lathe with a little time.
