No, no coil yet. I got my kit off of ebay, 58.00 plus shipping, pretty good deal. I am going to wait for my coil to go first, I have lots and lots of body work to do first. I also put in a reman distributor at the same time, the bushings were toast on my original, so make sure you check that out also. They are available for I think 65.00 for remans. Hope the info helps.

did you do there nice chrome coil to?

Because I'm planning on the pertronix kit for the dizzy (which sounds like what I'm lookin for after reading your post :) ) Then there nice chrome coil and some 11mm wire's...minor stuff but it should keep a super hot spark :)

I just recently installed a petronixs kit, took about 7 minutes to instal, and worked just fine. Only 2 wires to connect. Mine was for a 75 cvcc ED-1, but it should be the same. I think the part number was 1741, but I would double check.

I checked out the pertronix gear...any reviews from anyone?

I was also originally going to use a EN electric dizzy...but this was recommended...

There are only a handful of wires to splice in, plus the igniter and it's done. Much better and more reliable than points. How to do it has been covered numerous times in the past.

You are right to much electronics for me to deal with shut offs etc. You have any suggestions?

I don't understand ... are you saying you put an EN engine in a 76 and you aren't going to use its electronic dizzy but rather the old points dizzy? Is it because you can't work out how to wire up the proper one?
