Sony you dont see to be understanding the post? Kurt already said he had 3 deluxe guage sets ...its the Ignition system thats the problem in hooking the tach up not the tachs themselves. Mallory is known for this problem.

Just keep your eyes open on Ebay for the original Tach's. They are so difficult to find, specialy in good condition, but they are around. I would say that at least one set is sold on Ebay every 4 to 6 months. Just check every week for them.

Went to p/u my tach adapter today. They ordered the wrong one. I paid $125 for the ignition itself and they want to charge $165 for the tach adapter. F*** BS

I bought it as it was on sale, then I heard the reputation. The Mallory has the tach wire too, it just doesn't do anything. Apparently the tach adapters increase the signal going to the tach so we'll see.....

Msd6al has a tach wire port no problems at all. Mallory's stuff is not like an msd so be careful

I'm sure many of you run an aftermarket Ignition box like an MSD 6? I still run that stupid Mallory VIA. Its like a copy of the MSD 6.

I also run an MSD coil so I can no longer connect my tach to the negative side of my coil.

The tach wire off the Mallory box will not run the tach. I bought an MSD tach adapter and it didn;t work either so I brought it back and bought Mallory tach adapter. I'm just waiting for it to come in.

For those of you running these boxes do you have to run the tach adpapter or is your tach working?

I have three stock tachs and none of them worked when hooked up to the MSD tach adapter. They would read fine at idel and as soon as I gave it gas the needle would dive back down to zero and stay there? weird?

Anyone experience this???

I'll be pissed if I just fried three sets of deluxe gauges
