Hey Richard and crew. This is a very sweet ride. It is in showroom condition...remember this guy http://www.drpepperben.dr.qc.ca/passionhonda/ well it is in almost the same condition, just no mags...all original...it's not a ride for a custom project, this is for car shows and putting around town in classic style I gotta say. Plus it made it for collector plates...which here is very difficult, not like Alberta etc. So insurance is crazy cheap. 4 g's is steep but the car is a true classic...think of what people pay for a domestic classic.....

RE: '78 Hondamatic for sale. I am in Victoria B.C. Car is original and in almost mint shape with only fault being scrapes on bumper end caps (Insurance Corporation of B.C. did not identify this as a reason not to accept the car for Collector Plates (they are picky). Never smoked in and clearly kept in garage for most if not all of it's life. Also has the optional rear side pocket speakers (mounted horizontally in the trunk on each side - looks like this was an installation option). It's truly a good clean example having never been tampered with and much loved. Drives great - used it today after not using it for two weeks and it started-up first time. I am advertising it in the Victoria Times Colonist in the "Collector" section and the "Cars Under $6K section. Odometer reads 40,000KM (I have no proof it is not 140KM other than the fact that it would be impossible to have the car so solid, clean and wear-free with 140KM - even the washer bucket is still translucent white and the rear defrost works perfectly (including the little red light on the knob). I have a CD rom loaded with pictures but have not been able to find it... for serious enquiries I will take some more phots and email them. Email enquiries to abrown65@telus.net

I live in Las Vegas and I'm looking for 1978, 1200, 3-door with manual trans. I'm willing to pay commensurate with the condition of the car and how close it is to original. If someone has one in good mechanical and cosmetic condition, please let me know.

The online nada guide lists high retail at $3075.00USD.I recently looked into having my 78 insured here in Alberta as a collector car.My insurance company requires I have my car appraised.Although I have not got the final report my appraiser has informed me mine will fall some where between $4500-5000 cdn. This is actually very close to what I have put into the car,not including labour.NO !

I have my 1978 Cheyenne gold Hondamatic hatchback on the market. It's in excellent original condition and has qualified for British Columbia Collector status and has "Collector" plates ($200/year insurance in B.C. The car was in storage for approx. 14 years and since being brought out of storage (last year) it has had new: major tune-up and tranny fluid change, new tires (4), brake calipers rebuilt and new shoes on rear, new radiator, new muffler, rebuilt original carb., new tie rod ends and balljoints and new battery and timing belt. Sale includes a second new old stock Hondamatic transmission still in the box and and extra water pump. Also: maint. booklet, owner's manual, sales brochure, tool kit in black vinyl bag in the original plastic bag and original keys and key fob. The car is an ideal collector car but it is also great for everyday driving with all interior lights(Choke, dome etc.) and accessories working perfectly (heater, wipers etc.). $4,000 Canadian - firm. Victoria B.C.
