Jarcaf has a point....
Even if you want to keep it, just pull parts and sell them...otherwise:
Throw a battery in it, fresh gas, pull the choke out and give it a try.

I can't believe that was on the way to be crushed! It looks great!
If you feel like looking for a problem, you can pull out the seats and carpet(a 30 minute job if you know how), and check for rusting floors. Of course, checking the safety stuff is a good idea too; ie-cracking brake lines, tires, lights, wheel torque, loose suspension/steering. Good luck!

nice car...looks great.
What did you mean by "know what I should look out for" ?
Parts? Advice on getting running?
There are lots of very smart civic guys and girls on this site.
Good find.

Hey all-
I'm a newcomer to your site-I love it! Anyway I just found a 79 civic (hondamatic) with 95,000 miles. The owner was taking it to the junkyard! I had a 77 when I was 16 and have looked all over the place for another. I couldn't pass this one up. The car doesn't run now, no battery, fuses, or gas. The body looks in decent shape. I'd like to have it painted yellow like my old one.
Any advice on what I may want to be on the look out for?
Thanks!
Brady
