this tank I managed 38.4 mpg after switching to syn lube in the tranny and running premium with advanced timing. though think I might have the plugs gapped just a little too far they are around the width of a dime.


if I switched to a stock ek1 what would gas mileage be roughly?

i was getting as much as 42 mpg on a long trip through the parries with my old EM1. normal city driving ran about 32 mpg if i remember correctly. now with my EK/EL running sidedraft webers i get 21 mpg these days. on a trip to seattle last month i was getting 25. not so good

My 82 1300FE (Fuel Efficient) was rated at 42mpg city / 53mpg highway when new. It actually achieved 55 on a long highway trip back in 87.

Today it gets 39mpg driving the 10 mile trip to work at 5500 ft. altitude. Not bad after 22 years. Engine has not been opened or modified since new.

and probably could of went another 40-60kms

and that has a 42L tank from memory

just wondering what the avg is for your gas mileage guys as of late with what car as well as what has been done to it?

so far have been getting around 32-33mpg on my 76 accord
waiting to see what I get now after upping to premium and advancing the timing a little and mobil 1 synthetic in the tranny.
so far at 265 miles and sitting at just under half a tank
