The trans are interchangable with no mods.

I haven't taken both out to look, but I assume they can be swapped. The part number is different however. Different ratio maybe? Part # for 77 wagon is 53040-663-672, and for 78 1200 is 53040-634-673

I believe the rack is the same.

Anyone? the beam I can fix, but I'd like to use the steering rack from my 1200 if possible.

They are different. The wagon support beam has a additional mount that the 1200 does not have. Also the bolt configuration is different.I have modified a wagon support beam to fit a 1200 so It could be made to work from 1200 to wagon but will require some cutting/drilling and welding.

Can I use the rear engine support beam (the one that always rusts out) and the steering rack from my 78 1200 on my 77 wagon? I know the parts #'s are different, but I don't see why they couldn't be swapped.
