make sure they are the same offset or it will tear yr tranny up

I believe the tooth counts are the same, but the offsets are the difference.

Does anyone know what the tooth count is on a speedometer DRIVEN gear for a 1st Gen Civic Hondamatic? I'm assuming they're different than the 4-speed.
