Optima makes the smaller batteries

Unfortunately, I've been using a bigger battery from Costco. It barely fits on the spot, but I managed to get it in there snug. For some reason having an overhead console with a clock wears down the battery, so that's why I got a bigger one. Now my new problem is that my alternator doesn't charge the battery enough. I'm running a 30amp alternator and I'm upgrading to the 45amp that's used with the AC unit. I have PIAA lights, super white modern headlights, 600 watt amp, MP3 stereo with 200 watts, internal fan and cell phone charger. Hopefuly running a 45amp alternator helps. I'm also installing a new voltage regulator. Anyone ever run a 45amp alternator on a NON-AC CVCC 1500 engine?

how does one determine cranking amps?

I think the civic will be ok as long as the battery is big enough, but I'm very concerned that the tractor won't start.
Seriously....if you have long cables going to your starter, you should increase the size of your wire so you can get full power to your starter. Longer wire has more resistance so you have to increase the thickness.
If the cranking amps match on the new and old batteries, and your wires are thick enough, you shouldn't have a problem.
