i've pulled my tranny off in car and if i had to do it again i'd pull the motor. there are about 11 or 12 bolts holding it on and half of them you can't see.

remove the engine mount bolts by the timing belt...remove panel from passenger side, have buddy tilt the engine from drivers side, pull it off. if you have a hoist you can do it your self, almost easier to pull the engine/tranny together and do it on the ground.

You didn't mention removing the starter, rear trans mount, and unbolting the flexplate from the torque converter. There are two dowels that line up the case to the block, so you'll have to pry them apart about 1/2" to separate them. Once that happens, then you might have enough room to drop the crank and flexplate out of the block. Dan

I am actually removing a crank, got the trans all unbolted, all the pass. side axle stuff. What else am I missing? Pan and crank parts are off, but I am not sure if the trans case will come off so I can unbolt the crank and flywheel.
Anyone done this on an EK with auto?
After the crank is out, the car is being donated.
