Yep! Probably the mainshaft end bearing, check your fluid to see if it's low. Top it off and start thinking about a repair.

Hello group!

I have recently heard more of a whining noise from the transmission when in 5th gear. It gets higher in pitch as speed increases. No such noise is heard when in any other gear. Am I about to lose a bearing in the trans?
