I like the front / rear split better. I use a tilton valve mounted beside my seat. I can get more or less rear braking just by moving the lever while driving... This would not work on a x split system.
Bleeding brakes can be tricky, sounds like air in the system to me.

It sounds like you still have air in the lines. You may be bleeding the brakes in the wrong order. In your setup you should bleed the front wheel closest to the master cylinder first then the rear across from it (not directly behind). Then do the other front wheel, then the back. The X design is a built in safety system so that in the event that something does go wrong you don't loose all front breaking power or all back, or all to the left or all to the right.

hey all ..

ok, after bleed ing the crap out of my brakes, they are still extremely spongey ..
- i suppose after the motor swap i will have to bench bleed the master cylinder -

i have the dual master set up -- is there something else i am overlooking? ..

it seems, in my 76, that the system works like an X (each cylinder operates opposite wheels)

so, i was wondering, if i split it to a front/ rear (per m/cylinder) set-up, what kind of adjustment valve would i need to avoid having equal braking front and back? .. where would be best to mount it and how is it best adjusted? --

thanks for any input ..
