it would be priceless :)

I truly believe in building it up yourself. So much pride in saving a car from the junkyard.

Anybody with money can buy something, but a hard working guy or girl that builds it up from nothing carries that pride everytime they drive it. Also you carry the pride of the people that helped you out along the way...

Ask Twyla or Justin or Kurt, they don't build those cars to sell them. (Although any of those cars would warrent a 8g + amount) Those cars all had humble begining's.

This has just come up a lot, "what is worth." And yes, it's worth what you pay for it. I just think 8-10-12 G's for 50 HP stock civic is crazy. For 8 g's you could buy a beater at 300 bucks and pay to have it totally done up to you, your own custom 4 cylinder hot rod. I just think it is good for people getting into cars, to understand that....balance what they want, are you a collector of concours award cars, or do want to have a fun good looking awesome little car.

I personally never look at a car I have done up as a dollar amount. If you count your own hours, it would be priceless. I try and think of who would respect it and take care of it, and sell it to them based on there pocket book...to help someone out. Not cash in on them....old school maybe....

"cheap to fix and modify" I guess that depends on your idea of cheap.$8000 for a mint classic car really isn't that much.Take your $200 beater and do all the body work/paint,rebuild hot motor/drive train/suspension,wheels and tires, interior, sound system etc... And don't forget your time/labour maybe 150-200 hrs at say $25.00 an hr.What would you want for your car after all that?

Brad, I know this is an old post. But with recent interest in 1st gen's price's have gone up. Be very carefull of people cashing in. $8000 for a stock civic.....

There are a lot of good nice people, keep your eye out, shop, talk to people here...you can get a good car at a fair price. Just look out for people cashing in, it's like my pops said, surround yourself with good people, and good things happen.

I guess I have just been a little upset lately watching some people inflate pricing, in one year things have gone up a lot. One of the reason's I know I love these old honda's is a: reliable b: fun c: cheap to fix and modify. The culture is still there, just ask advice and learn what to look for :)

And in the end, it's true, it's worth what people will give you for it.

Hi Brad, I emailed you directly with further answers but as we all know..."things are worth what people are willing to pay for them"
