If you have a 1976-1979 Wagon that you are converting from Hondamatic to 5speed, don't forget to also upgrade your brakes from Stock wagon to 1976-1981 Honda Accord. They bolt right up and brakes are bigger.

This is an awesome thread...I was also needing this info as it is a MUST for me to change my Hondamatic into a 4 spd or 5 spd.
Thank you!

I just did this swap last fall, it was better having the parts car handy just in case I forget something.
Trans with dust plate and bolts,
pedals,
shifter with linkage and support rod,
clutch,
pressure plate with matching pressure plate bolts,
clutch cable and supports for valve cover,
and ... hmm I think that's it, what did I forget?
The job is easy, besides removing and installing the trans moving inside gets interesting with the pedals. You have to drop the steering shaft, pull the dash forward about 1ft, loosen the heater box and pull forward to squeeze the brake pedal shaft behind, and disconnect and reconnect the park switch (no modifying, just plug it into itself; directions are here somewhere as I forget the location).
Have fun

i love my car with all my heart and she is in great condition. i drive very fast and love the hondamatic. BUT as we all know, a 5 pd kicks major butt and i would love to do a conversion. my mechanic is up for it (he and his bro do only hondas and love my car). what parts to i need, a list would be great, and how much labor are we looking at? the boyfriend is out of town for the summer so i will have the FORD (ew) as a second.
also, does anyone have a paintchart for 79 that they could email to me? thanks again
