Awesome, thanks. I was refered to this site from 1stgencivic.com I've went through the archives and also looked at the detailed swap pictures and it has helped on my fab. of motor mounts. A custom cross-member might be needed if I put the "Single Slam" Turbo kit I'm looking at, or just tuned headers. I've got a page on cardomain if you guys wanna check it out...

Excuse the cheesy photoshop, but thats pretty much what I want to have the finished product look like. I have the bumpers already, just need to remove the 5mph metal bumper on the '79 and put on something a little more trim (so I don't DIE if I get hit). I'm also thinking of a nice little wing on the back a-la this photo

Hey there, I've read a few of these posts and ppl in here seem to know whats up. This will be my first full-bore swap project although its not my first time pulling and replacing engines/trans/etc. Plus I have my brother mechanic I make do everything so....

1993 Civic EX 2-door JDM D16Z6 -> 1979 Civic CVCC Wagon ED4

I have a 1979 CVCC wagon 4-speed that I got off a Honda dealership tech. Its very nice, drives good, had been gone through and fixed up, but the carb is a goner (still drives!). I got this little guy for $300. 'Lil WD-40 here, 'lil soapy water there and BAM, looking good and everything works.
So I happen by a 1993 Honda Civic EX 2-door vtec... JDM motor swap already done with all the little KnN stuff and chrome this and that... yah yah I own a 1st Gen MR2 so it was all show and no go for me. BUT it was cheap, $930 infact because it had been hit in the rear by an escalade at 5mph hin a parking lot. The girl who drove it just had the insurence company "total" it out. Came with 2 sets of rims (momo course and something else) extra front bumper and rear body-kit bumper, new radiator, the JDM swap... dang, even the A/C blows cold! Power everything + sunroof too.

Anyways you can see where this is going, I have the space, I have the time, I have the money so I think dropping the D16Z6 into the 1st Gen Civic wagon (with the larger engine bay) would be sweet.

What do you think? I'm thinking hell yah, plus swap over the break system (front-disc/rear drum) for the 4x100 lug patten, maybe put some of the snazzy electronics into the old-timer... I donno maybe some interior and a custom body kit. Should scoot?

Any comments/help/suggestions would be cool!
