thanks user ... finally found the correct port line ... i'm hopping to slip it past as an orig car as they don't check block numbers ,,, but i did keep my 1500s carb as a backup just in case i need it come smog test next spring ...grabbed the accords canister so thats ironed out ...vac line routing sticker was still under the hood of the wrecker car so atleast now i know where all the damm lines go on the 1800s control box and lectric valves ... swapped out the head pipe last night ... get the rest of the center section pipe done this AM ... comming along ...

If I remember correctly the 1751 carb has a ported vac source in the rear of the carb next to the Idle adjust knob. It is hard to get to.
Yeah here in CA you will need to have the bowl vents and canister hooked up, you don't have to worry about the thermosensor though.
Better decide right now if you are going to try to run this one through as a "stock" engine or are going to admit that it is a 1751. Most times the referee will not catch the difference in the older cars and they will run clean as long as they are running right...
If stock, you will have to just meet all the smog that was on the original, If '79 you have to meet the '79 emissions and equipment, at least no Catalyst!
Are you in an enhanced area? If so one trick to beating the Dyno is to use the carb from the 1500, just FYI

got lucky and the wrecker has a untouched 79 accord .. i see the bowl vents hit a charcoal canister and return as a smaller line back to the control valve ,,, no wonder i didn't "get" it ..scored a AAA condition distrib ,, been using the bit and piece one i made up for the 1500 a yr ago but the advance is way less then the 1800s is ,,finally may get some advance on this thing .. any clue on finding ported vac on this carb ... not drilled where the 1500s carb is for ported vac .. and the one i checked today wasn't either ,,the 77 cvcc opened and closed the ported advance by temp ,,at high temps it gave it a bit of vac advance ... cool down and it went off again ...i know i know why am i screwing with it ??? welcome to calif smog testing ,, anybody in the southern calif area wants a 79 accord 1800 pick a part.monrovia has 1 ,,they have an 80 as well .. neither cars been really touched but move fast as that yard turns over fast .. in 2 weeks they will be gone ..crushed and .....

Most likely the bowl vents are not open, the Vac hoses that lead to the top of the float bowls fit onto the vents, there should be some red lines leading away, the bowls will need to be vented to run properly. you can take the one screw out of the valve and slide them out to see how they work and try to route vacuum to them or figure out a work around.(you might want to pull real hard on the rubber stoppers to see if they are "Seated" well...Hint, Hint)

you can put your carb on from your 1500 or do the weber conversion.

kudos to this site for hard to find 1st gen civic info ... thanks to the info i found here i narrowed my swap selections to an early accord to mate with the 1st gens 5 speed .. lucked out and 200 bucks later i was the owner of a complete 79 accord 1800 CVCC engine low mile 60k on the clock ,,car had been stuffed from behind ..swapped flywheel and installed ... except for the 1500s starter not cranking when the 1800 was hot things went fine as could be,,, 2nd trip to the wreckers solved that..now WTH do i do with the 50 extra hoses on the accords carb ?? got the usuall assortment of bolts plugging the hoses to get it roaded ..reason i ask is i'm having a hot flooding condition ,, pull the air cleaner and find gas dumping into the primary ... anybody sharp on the bowl venting lines and the rest of the early accords carb vac hose routing would be a vast help .. dosen't seem to be a needle n seat problem as it only happens when hot ..
