That Jackson set up is ther cleanest I have seen. So is that a draw through set up? Looks as though anyone could do that with modifying the exhaust mani.

Very cool. I'm not going to get this setup but I'm hiking around for inspiration. Glenn, I've been following your car for a while, and I love it. I'm planning more on a push-thru system than a draw, but with the carb that close it doesn't seem like it would make much more than a noticable decrease in throttle response. I think I'm gonna stick with a blow-thru into a box on the stock intake mani, then rig the turbo to a homefry exhaust mani. I'm consulting with Shnitzel, but I'm gonna be doing some different stuff as well: no I/C(at least at first), stock intake mani, different box, just different stuff for the sake of time/money. Those figures are great to know as well. Thanks a lot guys.

Its an SU Carb attached to the intake pipe. Stock intake mani.

Quote:

"Exhaust volume and heat make the turbo spin. So we cast a completely new exhaust manifold. The turbo charger is bolted directly to this new short manifold. This keeps the volume of exhaust and heat high for instant throttle response. No turbo lag here! This also helps keep the turbocharger low on the engine, thus removing excees heat without putting excess vents in the hood.

The heart of our kit is the new Warnerishi turbo charger. Its small size and light impellers give our kits tremendous low end power and broader boost pressure. Our standard turbocharged engine will start producing boost at 1800 rpm and will be at maximiu boost and in the wastegate at 3000 rpm.. That means power, and big power when you need it. No waiting for 6000 rpm, and the cam to work. Turbocharging can double your torque output. Something naturally aspirated engines can't. That's why you don't have to over rev the engine all the time. Just push down on the pedal and away you go!

Hey Kurt, do you happen to know where they stuck the carb in the Jackson kits? Was it a stock carb? Sorry Ramon for being a little off-topic.

My mistake, it was a Warnerishi turbocharger Oscar Jackson used. I will have to scan the article in at work tonight and post it...very interesting.

I believe Jackson Racing used a RayJay turbo for their EK turbo kit in the 70s. These wouldn't be related to that would they? I'll have to find the magazine.

I have 4 in boxes never opened. I will get #'s and stats on them tomorrow.
