Hey guys if anyone has the thermostat housing to suit a mugen ms1 type manifold I would be interested in buying it, also any spares for the carbs, what were other applications for these carbies? either in single double or quad form? thanx

That RS carb set-up is NICE!
Very clean for as old as it is........but there you go again.....bragging!
By lazy (165.228.57.19) on Thursday, October 28, 2004 - 08:06 am: |
oops - got distracted. Dunno why you can't post photos more than 5 mins after making the initial post... wtf is the point of that.
By lazy (165.228.57.19) on Thursday, October 28, 2004 - 07:52 am: |
well I had a look and found the manifold for the RS carbs..
The set in the pictures has been completely rebuilt and not used since. The air box and all other bits missing from the photos seems to be accounted for. I'm not looking to sell these or the mugens any time soon.. I'm just interested in knowing their value.
I have a second disassembled-but-complete set of RS carbs (with manifold) that haven't been rebuilt, but look to be in good condition. I would consider selling these. Any ideas on value?
Thanks,
Josh

sorry colza... I missed your post. Yeah, the crazzy spikey finned things.
I'll have a hunt through the 20 or so boxes of bits I got (at least 50% of the stuff I got is unexciting junk). With a bit of luck I'll have the RS manifold as well.

I told him he should list it all on e-bay in separate auctions that way he gets true market value for the items and everybody gets the same chance. FYI I'm not going to bid its very cool stuff but not legal in what I wrote up for the SCCA to consider for production.

**DROOLING** now I understand what a dog must had in its mind when seeing a juicy T-bone steak on a BBQ, lol!
Lazy, you got to do something about these parts you're dangling in pictures in front of us dogs!
Like Don said... let the bidding start!
By Don (199.2.139.179) on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 - 06:25 am: |
The Rs carbs without the manifold has value but with the manifold its worth more.
The other is an Mugen MS1 setup but it needs an ofset distrubutor adapter to be used. With the adapter I would say its over $500 US dollars....
let the bidding begin
By lazy (165.228.57.19) on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 - 03:32 am: |
here's some photos of a couple of the carb setups. I'd be interested to know what they're worth.

Are the mugen wheels the crazzy spikey finned things? Maybe they are for heat-sinking brakes on racecars...

Hey Lazy
If you like I could swap you one of your EB3 1200 manifolds for a set of dell-orto DHLB 35's on a 1G manifold I've got in the garage. Otherwise I'm sure we can strike a cash deal
Cheers
Keil

Yup.
I got a few NOS bits including seals, panels and RS rear wiper setup. I also got two sets of RS carbs, a complete quad mugen setup, a complete RS hatch with wiper setup, some 4x100 mugen 14" wheels (which are rather strange looking things) annnd.... hmm.. oh yeah - three overhead consoles... but they're all missing the light cover

I'll take ONE if you have any left! I'd love to get one for my 1200 EB2. How much do you want for one header? Please email me:

Thanks!

They used to go for around $150 but are worth whatever someone is prepared to pay ...
The different numbers are most likely just casting batch numbers or some such thing. You'll find they are all the same.
Where on earth did you manage to dig up four of them??
By lazy (139.130.237.102) on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 - 07:17 pm: |
Anyone have any ideas of what one would be worth?
Also, are all RS headers the same, or are there different/better types? Three of the ones I have have M4, M6 & M7 clearly marked on them.

Hey Lazy!
Woah, if one of them will fit my '78 1200 EB3 I'm definitely interested! I'd need ground shipping to the UK though.

I think someone advertised one here very recently..
You should be able to source an RS manifold locally, but on the off chance you can't I can sell you one.

Anyone? I need a header or even a RS manifold for my '79 1200?
