A couple update details…
The eroding black paint strip on the rear bumper was mercifully removed in its entirety by hand using WD40 and #0000 steel wool. Once removed, went over the chrome with Blue Magic chrome polish paste. Worked a treat.

Sun visors and forward headliner had what appeared to be the beginnings of black mold from years of storage condensation (no leaks have been found).
The treatment? At first, we tried a “light distilled vinegar” solution with minimal effect. Then, 100% vinegar with spectacular effect. No trace of mold left and vinyl appears perfectly fine.

Next, the oxidized Sofia Red paint. We may end up addressing the previously body filler’d R/R quarter panel repair, minor dings, and flaws with a prep-n-repaint, but for now we’ll stay with its well deserved character marks. So, we used Meguire’s Cleaner Wax followed by a coat of Meguire’s Gold Carnuba wax. Geez…it looks better than it has right to!

Finally, cleaned up the 13” (‘80-‘81) Accord beauty rings with Flitz metal polish…BAM! Many much better.

It actually looks pretty good…from 20 feet!

Thanks mielko! It's been such a fun diversion from the responsibilities of, well, everything else!

Ha! Thanks Randy!
Our Lil’ Buddy is proving to be exactly what we were hoping for; a fun, unique, smile-and-thumbs-up generating, apparently reliable reason to get from one place to another. My partner in crime and I are now looking for excuses to “pop down to the store”!
Bonus: the Kraco am/fm/cassette even sounds ok (admission: yes…I still have some cassettes).

:cool
I actually have a load of them still, I can hardly wait to put in an old stock new Sony Explode deck that comes witch a connection to a floppy disc changer.
Sounds like fun, any excuse to take it out. I had 8-tracks too and sent them to Vulcan way back for his first gen.

Ha! Wonderful!
I would never admit to still owning any 8-tracks.
I might be old but,…um, oh wait…hold that thought.
