BC Racing Coilovers

Here in the UK we are working to get BC Racing to provide an off the shelf coilover solution for the 1st Gen Civic. The idea is that the kit will be available worldwide from your local BC dealer
We are providing them with a set of stock struts (donated by Thor) to use for measurement/engineering purposes. These will not be modified stock struts but a high spec, fully engineered new product. The project is in its infancy at the moment with full specs and prices to follow in the fullness of time.

Rumour has it that certain models of theirs are made in the same factory as Buddy Club and other Japanese brands.

The struts from me are for the 1stgen models. After discussion with Jay, we reckon that the different diameter top mount issue can be resolved by ensuring that the assembly will fit the earlier cars. As the stud holes to mount the top mounts do not alter their position, the hole in the inner wing is just bigger, then we should have a one size fits all result.
It is intended for the package to include camber-adjustable top plates, coil-overs, adjustable spring platforms, adjustable leg lengths, and be adjustable, we hope.

We are also looking into exactly what is entailed in fitting a 2ndgen hub onto a 1stgen leg to enable an easier 100mm pcd conversion to be carried out.
2ndgen arms on a later 1stgen set-up gives an increase of 10mm each side as they were extended outboard of the swaybar mounts.
This then will all fit, except for the rack end which will not adjust out sufficiently to get a satisfactory tracking resolution. Anyone know to a rack end that is 10mm longer. This would make it a spanner job, not necessitating any adaptors or modified bits to offend vehicle testers :wink: If drive shafts are too short, then 2ndgen shafts can be cut down to be correct. No specially-made parts are needed.

Don't anyone suggest a UK maker, I fought their corner, then fought them to get a supply resolution, they are ................... (insert your own derogatory term). they cannot even be bothered to reply to phone calls or e-mails. Their loss when you consider the global market place.

From my experience the 2nd gen inner LCA bushing tube is slightly narrower than the 1st gen ones requiring a couple of ~2mm washers. Then again that could just be from the brand of control arm I bought.
