There will be plenty of pics to come. After seeing the build that koosjer55 has pulled off on his civic, definately gave me motivation to go all the way with mine. The outcome is totally worth the effort.

motor swap dilema

Unread post by islander »

I picked up an 1982 c82c 1500 with a standard transmission. I thought this was a straight drop in deal. i don't think that is the case is it? the first thing i noticed was the difference in where the header pipe comes off of the motor. anyone have any info on this?

alright here it stands.... I've bought a new house, so amongst all of the things there is to do with moving the civic has to be put on hold In the mean time I'm still trying to do my research on my motor swap. I've found a lot of good info from Kurt's RoadSailing site but I've also been told I should just try to find a 1300 motor instead of the 1500 CVCC motor and car I already have? Also is it even possible to swap the standard transmission from the 82' to my 75'?? if I choose to keep the motor I have in the car and just try to do upgrades to it.

You should be able to use the 82 trans in your car with minimal troubles.

Swapping a bracket, maybe cutting to clearance a piece to fit. The swap is done all the time as an upgrade...
