He what kind of sewing machine are you using for the Upholstery
I bought a 1950's Kenmore. I only used it for putting in the seams across the seating area. When I tried to use it on the vinyl I kept running into the piping and breaking the needle, so all the vinyl pieces are hand sewn.

Hi,
Short update. Took the car out for a little spin today, but the door keeps popping out and the door ajar buzzer keeps going off. Very annoying, but hopefully soon to be rectified.
The seats are in and the mirrors are on.
The seats are much better - but still old. They could have used new foam, but....

The mirrors I am not so sure about. They are pretty low. The drivers side is okay but the passenger (right) side is not useful at the moment. I will try a little more adjustment before passing final judgement.

I guess an update is in order. I have installed the BC coilovers, and just need to reassemble some braking components. It took much more time than I expected, mostly because I was too timid and had to work up the courage to take things apart or to use a bit of 'persuasion' on sticky parts. A long summer trip and an early winter didn't help much either. I could do it much much faster now.
Next year I won't start anything major until late summer so I can drive more. Didn't get many miles in this year although I did do a short Highway jaunt. New rubber door seals are in order since there was very impressive wind noise.

Another thing I did was make a little floor console from PVC sheet. It's a bit dorky but fits well enough and looks good painted to match the exterior. It gives me a place to drop things besides the floor.

For next year I have sourced a gauge set and a new dash.

The dash in the car is butchered and the replacement I got before is just not as good as this one. Hopefully I can work up the courage to take my dash apart.

I found that new exterior mirrors I got are fairly useless. I can't angle them to see properly so I plan to put the original mirror back on in the spring. Also vague plans for some 'carburetion augmentation'.

Nice update! Keep up the work. The looks good so lets see some pictures once it's back on the ground. The dash is pretty easy to do. Maybe a three hour job. If it's your first dash plan on a day.

Keep us posted!!!!

I'm back on the road. The ride is firm but not too bad. There was a lot of banging and bouncing from the back but once everything shook into stable positions it was pretty quiet. I wouldn't go any stiffer but I am happy with it.
