According to my parts catalogue the proper name for it is a 'ventilation louvre seal' (and was $3.22 back in '74!). I'm hoping it is easily available off the roll as I may have to replace mine, I just managed to cover it in Hammerite!

Cowl vent seal or similar. It's a pretty standard moulding so shouldn't really be hard to get something similar at any auto rubber shop. The stuff from Spectum isn't the same shape as the original. You just buy a length of it and glue it on. After a while the corners squash down into the right shape.

Good question,I'd call it a bulkhead air intake seal.I believe its purpose is to prevent fumes from the engine compatment entering the cabin area.
