Max you might consider Looking for a car elsewhere.. there's plenty around. Just get a good running car and deal with the body later (unless you're never going to drive it, then reverse that order). Since messages drop down the list quickly, If you'd like to get a hold of JMS, consider using email to do so.

Good luck in Honda Land.

Drove out on Sunday and no answered the door, the Honda was gone but maybe he was out in it. I know he worked sometimes on the weekend so it was hard for us to cruise together.

I will go buy again this week. Im just busy, my days are 0430-1900 (4:30am-7:00pm) average, as I have over 70 troops to be responsible for. Im done with this job soon though. Barely have time to work on my own Hondas.

By Max (Max) (67.162.184.219) on Friday, June 11, 2004 - 08:17 pm:

Well... dont mean to bother you but im real anxious to hear about that car.

Also on the 73 look closely at the OLD school AC unit and the ROUND steering column. Tell tale signs.

By jms (68.107.182.165) on Tuesday, June 01, 2004 - 05:17 pm:

Max
well the body you can have free (there are no pics of it posted) the 79 if you look below Im asking $1500 but its not officially up yet, I have some cleaning/detailing to do. Plus I dont leave for a while (military move) so its just a good spare car.

Not sure about the headlights, make a separate post or ask on the 2 gen talk.

The 73: I havent seen or talked to him in a month, I will drive over to his house (cant find his number) this weekend and check on it. He lost interest and mentioned to me he would sell it, but it was too much at the time and I didnt have room. It runs, you might be able to drive back but its a risk. Let me check before I promise it, just wanted to see if you were interested first. I will get his number again you will have to call him.

I do have a used brake booster, should work ok.

Don I checked its a 73, it has the 73 rear bumper, but on the front it was so beat they put the 74-77 style on.

By Max (Max) (67.162.184.219) on Tuesday, June 01, 2004 - 11:21 am:

Oh ya! jms, if that car has a clean title and I can get it for around $400 or less I will buy it.
I guessed that one weekend we could come up and meet with you when we pick it up. I also remembered you said that you had a spare brake booster?
I was wondering if you had one and if it was guarenteed?
If so we can pick that up when were down there!

thanks

Except for one problem its not a 73.
1973's had the short... non - country porch bumpers. So something isn't correct there.

jms do u know if i can bolt up the 81 round headlights to my 82 wagon

By jms (68.107.182.165) on Sunday, May 30, 2004 - 08:07 pm:

Oh the guy by me is selling his 73, it runs and goes but is rough, I think he wants $800 way too much but you could probably offer 3-500 and get it from him.

Look here its the one with the black racing stripes, its got dents, bad bumpers etc.

By jms (68.107.182.165) on Sunday, May 30, 2004 - 08:02 pm:

well I have a 79 hatchback 1200 body with the engine bay cleared for a D16 already that I gave up on going to the yard this week, its absolutely bare but a great shell you can have it free.

If you do get a junker, keep in mind a lower mileage car will have good interior suspension components etc etc that may all have to be replaced on a total junker costing more.

Did you see the pics? Im going to advertise it for $1500. The 79 trunk model, it has 80,000 miles and no probs.

By Nitrousaddict (Nitrousaddict) (64.12.117.16) on Sunday, May 30, 2004 - 08:01 pm:

Well, I have been on here a while because my dad has 2 (show 'not done', everyday driver)and I love the old school body and the fact you dont see them hardly at all here "texas" :( . I just turned sixteen with my first job "hopfully" and I would like to have one of these to make my own.
So if any of yall see or have a 76-79 1200 or cvcc that is in decent condition for real cheap "hopfully". I would really like to make one my first car.

thanks
max
