I think it is possible, I've seen some pretty wild things with the new gas. If it had a high Ethanol count that is where I would start looking.

Finally got around to swapping on the 12 inch steelies with new rubber and NOS trim rings. :)

Just refinished a grimy old valve cover to replace the one on my car. :)
Not sure why the black paint detailing the letters didn't hold up better.
Hopefully, better luck with the refinished one!

I'm happy with how the refinished valve cover turned out.
Now I need to repaint the alternator fin shield and mounting bracket. :)

Thanks guys!
I bought a clear reproduction upper timing belt cover from a test run Jack Bower commissioned and made by Bill Colford.
The cover needs to be finely sanded before I put it on.
I think it'll look pretty cool on there.
